Social Work Practice across the Life Course (L5094)
45 credits, Level 5
Autumn teaching
On this module, you will gain a comprehensive and robust overview of social work practice across the lifespan, encompassing both social work with children and families, with adults, and the transition across the lifecourse.
The module will further develop and contextualise learning from the BA Social Work year one modules, offering students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the policy context, legislative frameworks, and relevant theories that underpin ethical, effective social work practice.
The module will also be guided by relational, trauma-informed, anti-racist and anti-oppressive values and practices, and aims to prepare you to enter your first field placement in the spring term.
