3D Modelling and Animation (G6079)

15 credits, Level 5

Spring teaching

Producing high-quality content is one of the stumbling blocks towards successful 3D applications. It is a skill in high demand within related industries. This module will make use of industry-standard software to cover aspects related to the production pipeline of 3D content. These will include:

  • 3D modelling: allowing you to produce your own 3D geometries, observing real-life objects and characters, and creating accurate and well proportioned models
  • rigging: creating a core structure, rig or skeleton that will allow a 3D model to be manipulated effectively
  • animation: the principles of animation will be addressed giving you the skills to create believable movement that shows emotion.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 44 hours of contact time and about 106 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2024/25. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We鈥檒l make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
