Perspectives on Healthcare Law (M5024)

Autumn teaching

This module introduces you to a range of perspectives through which to analyse issues of healthcare law.

You will gain knowledge of the subject’s substantive legal rules, and be introduced to a range of analytical perspectives including:

  • underlying ethical principles
  • autonomy and welfare
  • relational and familial perspectives
  • the role of Parliament and the courts
  • professional self-regulation
  • regulatory approaches to healthcare.

The module is also designed to create an awareness of the historical development of health care law and policy, and of how their contemporary nature is influenced by wider political and economic transformations at national, EU and global levels.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 20 hours of contact time and about 130 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology.
