Mathematical Research Project (G1147)
15 credits, Level 6
Spring teaching
You will choose a mathematical topic and write your own report about it. You will be offered you a list of potential topics, ordered by supervisor, and you can explore different options before committing to one.
The supervisor will guide you through suggested reading and support you in writing a report that you will submit at the end of term. The module also includes a short presentation about your findings, so it provides you with research and presentation skills which will be useful for your later career.
You can take this module either in Autumn or in Spring, but not in both terms.

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 10 hours of contact time and about 140 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2024/25. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
We鈥檒l make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
