Language in the Workplace (Q1090)

15 credits, Level 5

Spring teaching

Language is part of nearly every human endeavour. This is particularly true of working life.

In this module, you’ll gain work experience with an employer or charitable volunteer organisation while applying knowledge gained on your course. You will observe and reflect on the use of spoken and written language in the workplace.

Then, you’ll choose an aspect of language use on which to conduct an in-depth study. You will complete the study using skills and knowledge developed on other English Language modules.

You will also reflect on how your findings might contribute to improving your own or others’ workplace communication.
