On this module, you’ll study parties and voters in the UK, focusing on contemporary changes rather than historical background.

Key topics include:

  • party system change in the UK
  • historical origins of the party system
  • electoral behaviour and party competition
  • party ideologies and programmatic development
  • intra-party conflict and cohesion
  • party organisational change
  • the relationship between the party system and the political system.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 267 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
