Spring teaching
The aim of this module is to provide an introduction to classical sociological theories and theorists and issues arising from their work.
We will cover classical sociological theory from its origins in the Enlightenment period to the post World War II period. The module looks at these broad movements of thought with a focus on specific theorists and a close reading of extracts from classic texts. You will acquire an in-depth knowledge of the work of major classical sociological theorists.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
