Gender and Identities: Education, Citizenship and Youth (812X3)

Spring teaching
The module addresses the production of citizenship identities within and through education. It also considers the ways this is gendered, with a particular focus on youth identities in the Global South. The module critically engages with contemporary international education and development policy agendas including:
- Sustainable Development Goals
- international policy conventions related to gender and youth.
The module explores in depth different theories of gender and identity. It looks at the particular insights they afford for international education and development agendas. Their insights and methodological implications will be further illuminated through close engagement with relevant research literature related to a wide range of Global South contexts.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 267 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
