Spring and summer teaching

This module enables you to explore an area of law of your choice under supervision, with a view to completing a dissertation project.

You will:

  • be expected to initiate and develop a research project
  • gain anunderstanding of key aspects of your chosen subject including acquisition of coherent and detailed knowledge, at least some of which is at the forefront of study of the legal area
  • need to exercise initiative and personal responsibility to manage your own learning, making use of scholarly reviews and primary sources appropriate to their chosen area of research.

You must demonstrate the ability to deploy accurately established techniques of analysis and enquiry to your chosen field of study and to evidence the ability to describe and comment upon particular aspects of current research in the discipline.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 28 hours of contact time and about 272 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2024/25. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
