New Developments in Digital Media (804P4B)
30 credits, Level 7 (Masters)
Spring teaching
Explore different approaches to understand new developments in digital media.
You will focus on:
- the computational character of digital technologies
- sociocultural forms that rely on computing
- how these increase the space and reach of algorithmic operations via software and data structures.
We analyse processes of transformation and change, questioning what novelty and progress in technoscience and technoculture are.
We’re also concerned with understanding the continuity of media and mediation. You’ll engage with historical perspectives on computational culture and its core concepts, theories and practices.
