Autumn teaching

This module will provide training in the core concepts and issues in business communication, and raise awareness of the practical requirements for effective communication in academic and professional contexts in both written and spoken English.

It offers practical training in the communication skills required to become expert communicators in business environments.

It will focus on aspects of critical thinking, reading and writing and the conventions and requirements of different genres of business texts.

It will give you extended training in the key linguistic and academic competencies needed to undertake various business communication tasks within the broad theoretical framework of business communication theory.

This module will be core if you are not a native English speaker (or do not have native speaker competence).

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology.
