Summer teaching

The project provides an opportunity for you to undertake a significant independent piece of research on a topic studied in or associated with the degree programme. 

Therefore, the project should focus on some aspect of the management of information technology, such as the use of new kinds of information technology in business, information technology strategy in a particular region or industry sector, complex information technology project and system management or the design of information technology systems from a user perspective. The project methodology may be based on business or management case studies or consist of systematic empirical/experimental investigation. 

The project dissertation should should demonstrate the ability to apply relevant methods to solve a research problem. It should position the work with respect to the literature in the area of study, describe the work in detail, justify decisions taken and critically evaluate the conclusions.

If appropriate, the project may be proposed and/or supported by a company or other organisation who may provide raw data, commercial information and advice. However, primary supervision is provided by a member of faculty.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 450 hours of work. This breaks down into about 450 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2024/25. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
