Spring teaching

You'll explore the current developments in terrorists’ use of the internet. We also consider emergences in the internet’s role with the development of terrorist networks.

This is a fast-changing area of study. Topics may include:

  • a historical overview of terrorists’ use of the internet
  • the development of online propaganda
  • the role and value of social media for terrorist networks
  • the dark net
  • disrupting terrorists online.

You’ll examine and identify the links between theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches as they apply to the contemporary topics discussed in the module.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 267 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
