Spring teaching
On this module, you’ll gain a holistic understanding of the interconnectedness of international trade law, international politics and economic principles within the international political economy.
You’ll develop a critical analysis of the core rules, principles and dynamics operating in the global economy, such as:
- globalisation
- sovereignty
- domestic trade policy.
This module examines key concepts and theories from law, politics and trade economics. It critically examines historical trends and structural inequalities embedded in decision-making processes. You’ll develop a deeper understanding of the rules and rationale for economic integration. You’ll also examine current trends towards non-compliance and disengagement from the WTO’s rules-based trading system.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
