Self, Voice and Creativity in Research Writing (533X8)

Spring teaching
This module will provide an opportunity for you to reflect on your writing process and on yourself as a writer, through reading and seminar discussion, as well as through the practice of writing techniques and creative writing exercises.
We'll focus on:
- academic writing as a genre
- ways in which writers can develop their own voice and self-presence
- the effect of the imagined reader in the writing process
- the development of voice and writing identity for academic writing and how it impacts on the way we tell the story of our research.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 16 hours of contact time and about 134 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology.
