Early Career Researcher Sub-Committee
The Early Career Researcher (ECR) Sub-Committee, a sub-committee of the 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ Research and Innovation Committee (URIC), oversees ECR provision and support at Sussex.
Remit
The remit of the ECRSC is set out in its Terms of Reference, which is reviewed annually. Broadly, the sub-committee is tasked with making recommendations to URIC on policies, practices and initiatives to support early career researchers (ECRs), fostering a conducive and supportive research culture, and celebrating ECR achievements and contributions to the 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ.
The ECRSC ensures the 5XÉçÇøÊÓƵ’s adherence to the Researcher Development Concordat and the maintenance of Sussex’s HR Excellence in Research Award (HREiR). These sector-wide initiatives aim to improve the research environment, enhance employment conditions and enable career advancement for researchers.
The ECR Reps group sits below the ECRSC and two members attend each sub-committee meeting.
