Building Better Business

Hosted by our Entrepreneur in Residence, Sara Osterholzer (International Business, 2011) the Building Better Business podcast invites alumni back to Sussex to talk about how we can build better businesses for a modern world.

Business for Better

Our Building Better Business podcast series was born out of our lockdown events series , and is now hosted by our Entrepreneur in Residence and alumna, Sara Osterholzer (International Business, 2011). Sara is an entrepreneur and good business specialist and is an Entrepreneur in Residence at Sussex, who is on a mission to demystify what good business practices and models look like so that purpose-driven entrepreneurs can start, grow and scale the businesses that the world needs, now more than ever.

Through talking to fellow Sussex alumni working in various industries across the world, Sara explores how we can build better businesses, aiming to contribute to developing the knowledge and skills of Sussex students to create critical thinkers, entrepreneurs, commentators, citizens and activisits.

Our past line-up has included, Harsha James– Director of Communications and CFA Institute who are leading the investment profession globally by promoting highest standards of ethics, education and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society.  Peter Horton, Director of Global Sales Support at Cummins, a world leader in power generation equipment who’s ethos is: “Doing what you say you will do and doing what is right” and Tristan Fletcher, Founder of ChAI which helps mitigate commodity price volatility for buyers and sellers of commodities by forecasting their prices using both traditional and alternative data (including satellite, maritime and political risk) and the latest in AI techniques over time horizons of one day to one year.

As the host of Building Better Business, an alumna and Entrepreneur in Residence at Sussex, I want to inspire our Sussex community to think about how we can build better businesses - ones that prioritise people and the planet alongside profit, and are part of the solution to make our world a better place for ourselves, and for future generations. ” sara osterholzer (INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, 2011)
