Autumn and spring teaching
Modern game design fuses a set of disparate disciplines. This module will use the design and development of games within an existing game engine to explore the following topics:
- Game development using assets within a game engine and associated development environment
- Games programming with a high-level object-oriented programming language
- Game design theory, covering level design, challenge and agency, game mechanics, game narratives
- Iterative design and development incorporating playtesting and games user research.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 21 hours of contact time and about 279 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
