Spring and summer teaching

On this module, you’ll build on prior learning with a focus on professional formation through social work values, ethics, and theories.

You’ll explore a range of social work theories, examining the historical development and current expression of social work values and ethics. Topics include:

  • different social work theories and their applications
  • the role and evolution of social work values and ethics
  • the use of codes of ethics and practice
  • the ethical and value foundations of various theories.

Case studies are used to connect theoretical and ethical discussions to real-world practice situations, preparing you for future placements.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 66 hours of contact time and about 84 hours of independent study. The 5X社区视频 may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
