How do I find out which version of Windows and which service packs I have installed on my Windows PC?


On the keyboard press the Windows Key  and the Break key together.

or

Click on the Start button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen and right-click on Computer and choose Properties.

A box should then display showing you the version of Windows you are running and which service packs you have installed.

This shows the Windows edition (Windows 7 Home Premium) and Service Pack (Service Pack 1) and, in the System section, the System type is shown explicitly as 32-bit.

 

32-bit or 64-bit?
Sometimes you're asked to confirm if your software is 32-bit or 64-bit? This is also displayed on the page under System Type.
