Module learning outcomes
Demonstrate an understanding of behavioural analysis at different levels of study.
Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the nervous system: the action potential, synapses, neurotransmitters; and some simple neural circuits.
Be able to explain how neural mechanisms underlie sensory perception and control behaviours, as well as explaining the basics of simple learning mechanisms.
Have practised skills in critical reading of scientific literature, including primary research papers and be able to communicate findings and conclusions from these, as well as understanding the experimental approach to the problem under investigation.
