Module Outline
In business and science, Information Management is key to the processing of big data. This module provides the key understandings of the systems underpinning Information Management needed to support Data Scientists and others in the Information Technology industries such as databases, Internet and Web technologies. The module will be taught by experts in computing in the department of Informatics, utilising our state of the art teaching facilities.
Module learning outcomes
Show an understanding of the components of a modern computer system and their interrelationship
Show an understanding of database schema and operational implementation in a Database Management System such as Mysql.
Show an understanding of Internet networking technologies and their use in implementing modern web-sites.
Show an understanding of the need for security and of the principles underpinning basic security technologies
