Module Outline
The main aims of this course are to explore the international business environment in Europe, to provide an overview of the various European economies, their inter-relationships, and their importance in the world economy. Attention will be paid not just to the major member States of the European Union, but to newer member States and other European economies.
Module learning outcomes
Evaluate the economic structures of the European economies and their diversity, and assess the nature of the (economic, political etc) linkages between them
Summarize how the European Union has grown and developed since its establishment, and critically evaluate how EU policy is formulated
Analyze the changes that the Eastern European countries have undergone since the early 1990s
Appraise the reasons for the various regional integration initiatives in Europe, and assess their benefits and costs
