Digital Signal Processing (H7138Z)
Digital Signal Processing
Module H7138Z
Module details for 2025/26.
15 credits
FHEQ Level 5
Module Outline
This module deals with the processing of digital signals and digital systems. The topics include sampling requirements and relationships between the input and output for linear digital systems in time, frequency and z-domains. It will also include the design of non-recursive and recursive filters, conducting discrete Fourier transform algorithm and fast Fourier algorithm, and use of software tool to process digital signals and digital systems.
Module learning outcomes
Represent basic digital signals, sampling requirement and relationships between the input and output for linear digital systems in time, frequency and z-domains
Know how to design non-recursive and recursive filters
Understand discrete Fourier transform algorithm and to use for analysing signals
Use software tool to process digital signals and analyse digital systems
